{"id":8,"date":"2023-01-22T09:59:12","date_gmt":"2023-01-22T08:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/8majorettes.ch\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2023-01-31T22:54:15","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T21:54:15","slug":"challenges","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/8majorettes.ch\/index.php\/challenges\/","title":{"rendered":"CHALLENGES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>IN BRIEF<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8 big climbs spread over 7 mythical passes of the Swiss Alps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perefctly maintained roads with 5 stars asphalt and postal cards views around every corner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple refuelling villages and legendary Swiss public transport, just in case.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CHALLENGES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 8 Majorettes offers 4 different challenges :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&lt; 24H WITHOUT ASSISTANCE &#8211; <strong>MAJORETTE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&lt; 24H WITH ASSISTANCE &#8211; <strong>POMPOMGIRL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&lt; 48H &#8211; <strong>POLKISTE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&gt; 48H &#8211; <strong>VALSEUSE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Challenge mostly rely on everyone&rsquo;s honesty, you will be the one facing the mirror if you cheat or sneak. However, there are a few basics rules to get your name up on the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/8majorettes.ch\/index.php\/hall-of-fame\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"24\" target=\"_blank\">Hall of Fame<\/a> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Send us an <a href=\"info@8majorettes.ch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">email<\/a> at least 12h before you start announcing the challenge you are headed for and the date\/time of your departure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take a picture of each pass sign as well as a start and finish selfie. Feel free to post those on social media and do not forget to tag #8majorettes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you are done, send us the picutres and the link to your Strava activity (or other application if not using Strava).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ORIGIN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directly inspired by the challenge of the \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.les7majeurs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">7 majeurs<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb the idea of the \u00ab\u00a08 Majorettes\u00a0\u00bb germinated during the 2022 season. With an overbooked calendar, travelling down to Briancon was not an option. But why going so far when you have one of the most amazing playground just on your doorstep? It should not be that difficult to figure out a route that would cover an equivalent distance and elevation while remaining in Switzerland !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born and raised in Belgium I was in Switzerland for just over a year and had not yet had the opportunity to ride the legendary passes niched between High-Wallis, Uri, Bern, Graubunden and Ticino.
